I used to say biting into a Grouper sandwich was like tasting Destin’s past. Well, now I’ll have to say spooning into a hot bowl of Gumbo is like tasting Destin’s hot future.

The Destin History & Fishing Museum will host the town’s Annual Gumbo Contest and Silent Auction Fundraiser on Saturday, Jan. 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Destin Community Center.
